Biography

Just in March of 1997, Jorge Ramirez and Alejandro Vasquez know in the school of La Salle. They shared the same tastes and ideas about music, and as time went on became more friends. This is the moment when they decide to form a band (before Fakie) along with three close friends. Jorge Alejandro with the guitar and the voice, birth and begin to create their first songs. However, the group with time away, this without leaving aside the desire to emerge as a band. Already in 1998, through the skate, George reconnects with his former classmates and current Mozart friends: Sebastian Caicos Zarzar and Gonzalo Andrés Gaiman, where they begin to comply with a new band called Fakie. The four got together every weekend to ride a skateboard and playing covers of different bands such as Millencolin, MxPx, NOFX, nufan, etc. In parallel, continuous together with Jorge Alejandro, creating their own songs and embracing new styles of music. As early as 1999, Alexander finally joins the group, which began to create songs as "missing faces", "sometimes", etc.. Fakie and personality begins to take off the pop bands of the era. Reaches its first gig at the College grow up, however the band at that time, do not care much about playing in front of mass audiences, preferring to play with his friends and at parties (playing covers). It is only in 2000 when Fakie fit fully in the scene, playing in different parts of Santiago, including regions, creating new songs, but now in particular by the strong need to express to your audience, different ideology that shared band. Already in this period the band was officially formed and Andrés Sebastián with guitars, bass and Gonzalo Jorge on drums. Already in 2007 the band disintegrates Fakie, not being made now, because members followed different paths.

Their main musical influences are The Beatles, Sublime, Oasis, U2, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Nas, Nirvana, Nufan, Millencolin, Guns, Marley, Funpeople, Foo Fighters, 2pac, Rem, Dylan, Stones, Juliana , Saves the day, Green Day, etc.

Fakie Interview

I contacted the band and wrote Fakie my questions, which yours probably will respond well, here I leave the mail ..

Hello, thank you very much for the message, for the support as always, to create a group on facebook and everything really.
I can tell, we have not separated, we found a time more than anything because we feel that we should deliver a great job to those who listened to us and as the last time (a couple of years ago) we were playing songs that the public did not know , and only asked us always playing old songs we were taking a long time, we are too routine to the play live.
We wanted people to sing and enjoy the new songs as they did with the demo and so much as we enjoy them, but could not because obviously unaware of the new songs.
At the same time we record an album of 10 new songs and old songs reissued in April that would come out with singles. Surely you have heard of it but never take it out: "Crepusculario", well that disc in all this time for things to maturity, taste, etc has changed much of what was in the beginning, but fortunately is coming to your state final and we are very happy with the result =) we will release this year I will not tell you an exact date, but it will be during the first half of 2009.
After that start to play live and record new music again.
For now we are trying again to create new songs that we have many others so as to record three albums and we hope to do it faster this time
because we have learned well from past mistakes.
